Why plan in 90-day blocks?

Ninety days is the largest unit of time you can plan without fooling yourself. Annual plans hide their failures until Q4; a 90-day plan has nowhere to hide — every week is more than 8% of the whole thing, and the finish line is always close enough to feel. It's the same insight behind the 12-week mindset: treat the quarter as the year, and urgency stops being seasonal.

The planner enforces the two disciplines that make a quarter actually different from three loose months: goals written as measurable outcomes (not themes), and a weekly execution score that tells you every Friday whether the plan is happening.

Frequently asked questions

The paper is nearly identical — 90 days is 12 weeks plus a weekend. This variant leads with quarter language (90-day goals, end-of-quarter review) for people who plan by calendar quarters; the weekly scorecard mechanics are exactly the same.
